the only problem i have with the study is that it was done by the manufacturers of the products on sale, this info could be correct but it also could be incorrect, mainly trumpeting the hi quality value of there products in order to sell them, for a manufacturer of products to state that there product came 2nd or third would be commercial suicide.
if more info and tests can be found which have been done by none involved and impartial parties I would be interested in seeing there results.
nice debateable topic though.
as you knowwe give ours raw marrow bones and ribs twice a week if the butcher has them and from time to time raw or boiled meat, just to vary the diet, the mainstay of meals we give is meaty green a complete food, to this we add water and some porridge oats or weetabix, both are healthy.

I've fed BARF for so long now, i think that the reduced vet bills speak for them selves at the end of the day it's like most things someone will always down anything that they might have compertition with, especially the mulit billion pound dog food market Very Happy

I used to feed Barf years ago, it wasnt known as that then, it was just the normal way to feed dogs.  Have just gone back to it after severe stomach problems with Josh aged 4.  I have done a lot of research on the web and it appears the dried dog foods can cause many problems also, hot spots, stomach probs etc etc including reduced enzyme production in the tum.  In fact the more I read the more horrified I became at what I had inadvertantly fed my dogs over the past 12 years or so.  Any research is good. But the pet food industry is multi million and they are going to lose a hell of a lot if people reject the diets they have encouraged us to feed our dogs.  Since changing diet Joshs stomach probs have calmed right down and his eyes have cleared up.  Makes you wonder, years ago our vets bills were minimal, with my last dog Shadow and Josh we seem to never be away from vets... Confused
